New law: get your credit report

You may heard about the new law going into effect, finally allowing us to get hold of our credit reports for free. I heard about it through this NYTimes piece, which was at the top of Tuesday's Business Section

Consumers will be entitled, beginning as soon as Wednesday, to a free credit report every year, but the industry is not necessarily going to make it easy.

The key link is AnnualCreditReport.com. The law went into effect for those of us in the West as of yesterday, but the rest of you won't be able to get your CR's until sometime next year. See the map on the site.
